Mark George
Dr. George obtained a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from UCLA in 1978 and his D.D.S. from Northwestern University in 1982. Dr. George then went through a Hospital Dental Residency program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and completed a Prosthodontic Residency Program at Wadsworth V.A. Hospital in West Los Angeles. He went on from there to complete a Maxillofacial Prosthodontic Residency at M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Clinic in Houston, Texas. This gave great training in working with Head and Neck cancer patients undergoing surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. It also gave Dr. George the opportunity to learn the art of facial prosthetics to rehabilitate patients with missing ear(s), nose, and other facial surgery. In 2003 Dr. George went to NYU to get special training for cleft palate patients in Nasoalveolar Molding. This technique enables cleft palate newborns to have there mouth reshaped via a special prosthesis that controls their upper jaw growth to close down the size of the cleft to a minimum size so surgery becomes a more comprehensive and delicate procedure. This minimizes future surgeries at an older age and provide a more natural outcome.
Mark George is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, member of the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics and a fellow of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics. His main field of interest is facial and intra-oral rehabilitation following trauma, surgery or congenital malformation.
Dr. George has extensive experience in the use of osseointegrated implants for dental and facial rehabilitation. Currently, Dr. George is in private practice in Orange California and lectures nationally.
