Associate Fellow

Requirements

(Pathway 1 pertains to CODA accredited maxillofacial programs, and pathway 2 pertains to international and non-formally trained maxillofacial practitioners)

  1. Applicant has successfully completed an ADA accredited Prosthodontic Residency and Maxillofacial Prosthetic Fellowship. Applicants would be required to accomplish the following:
    • Has attended an annual scientific meeting of the AAMP unless excused by the Board of Directors following submission of a formal request and
    • Presents at least one table clinic/poster presentation, presentation at the annual scientific meeting of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics and
    • Completes an application that demonstrates evidence of interest in maxillofacial prosthetics through clinical, educational, or research and
    • Applicant is encouraged to be in good standing of the American Dental Association (ADA) or equivalent organization in the country in which they practice.
    • Applicant must submit a completed application 60 days in advance to the annual AAMP meeting or the AAMP interim board meeting. The application must be submitted to the fellowship chair which includes a mission statement on becoming an associate fellow, and after validation by the fellowship committee, the candidate will be voted on for approval by the AAMP Board of Directors.
  2. Applicant has a dental degree from an ADA accredited school (not prosthodontic or maxillofacial prosthetics) or an international dental degree and certificate from an international institution in prosthodontics and/or maxillofacial prosthetics. Prior to submitting an application, the applicant must complete all of the following:
    • Has been in attendance at three consecutive annual scientific meetings of the AAMP unless excused by the Board of Directors following submission of a formal request and
    • Presents at least one table clinic/poster presentation, presentation at the annual scientific meeting of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics and
    • Submits 3 case reports to demonstrate their interest in maxillofacial prosthetics or submits two articles published in peer reviewed scientific journals to demonstrate their interest in the field of maxillofacial prosthetics and
    • Applicant is encouraged to be in good standing of the American Dental Association (ADA) or equivalent organization in the country in which they practice.
    • Applicant must submit a completed application 60 days in advance to the annual AAMP meeting or the AAMP interim board meeting.
