Active Life Fellow

Requirements for Life Fellow

An Active Fellow of the Academy in good standing who has reached the age of 65 may request in writing, through the Executive Secretary, a change in status from Fellow to one of the two Life Fellow categories (Active Life Fellow or Retired Life Fellow). Approval must be granted by the Board of Directors.

The two categories of Life Fellow and their qualifications are as follows:

1. Active Life Fellow as one who has fulfilled the following qualifications:
a) active membership in the AAMP for 25 consecutive years and
b) has reached the age of 65

2. Retired Life Fellow as one who has fulfilled the following qualifications:
a) active membership in the AAMP for 25 consecutive years
b) has reached the age of 65, and
c) has retired, though may retain some limited, compensated participation in dentistry
   
Active Life Fellows pay 60% of regular dues and receive the same benefits as Fellows, including privileges of voting and holding office (journal subscription access not necessarily included).

Retired Life Fellows do not pay dues. They also receive the same benefits as Fellows (with the exception of journal subscription access).
