Title: “Digital Dental Technology Applied to Maxillofacial Prosthetics”

Objectives:

  • Recognize the benefit of digital technology to improved oral function with maxillofacial prostheses.
  • Understand to use digital technology for the most frequent procedures to treat oral cancer that require prosthetic services.
  • Understand how to use Digital Intraoral Scanning, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Software and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to improve the design and creation of maxillofacial prostheses.

Biography: C. Edgar Davila, DDS, MS, CDT, FACP, FAAMP, FAAID, DABOI/IDBoard-certified prosthodontist in Tampa and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Florida and UAB Postgraduate Prosthodontics. He completed his MSc Degree and Prosthodontic Program at the University of Louisville, Maxillofacial Prosthetics Fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and AEGD at Eastman Dental Center. He is an active medical staff at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and UF Health Shands Hospital, Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and Past President of the Florida Prosthodontic Association. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and the American Board of Oral Implantology, Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the ITI. He is also a Certified Dental Technician (CDT). He maintains a practice dedicated to Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Prosthodontics and Implantology using clinical digital technology combined with an in-house full service digital laboratory.
