Dear Fellows and Members:

I hope that all of you are staying healthy and safe during these unprecedented times. COVID-19 has turned our world upside down. We have been impacted in many ways including our personal lives, practices and the research and educational environments we are associated with.

The AAMP officers and directors have been having monthly ZOOM meetings. We had to cancel our interim board meeting and a strategic planning session that was scheduled for April in Chicago. Committee chairs have provided their reports and these are presented and discussed at our monthly zoom meetings over a period of 3 months.

The board is monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on our annual meeting in New Orleans (November 1 to 3).  As of now we are planning on having our annual meeting as scheduled (the ACP is also planning on having their meeting).  However, we will follow all the guidelines from the CDC and state and local authorities keeping the health, safety and well-being of our members and guests as our primary objective.

Dr. Joseph Huryn has put together a fantastic program – it would be a real pity if we will not be able to meet and enjoy our fellowship and education in a city that is known for great food and music.  I will keep my fingers crossed and hope that we will overcome this virus so that we can have the pleasure of each other’s company in New Orleans in November.

Please feel free to reach out to your officers with any suggestions you may have and stay safe and healthy till we meet again.

Regards,

Arun Sharma
